I started hiphop abs yesterday. I was expecting a vigorous exercise programme focusing on my abs however it turned out to be an exercise program (I’m using the word exercise very loosely) that teaches geriatrics how to dance to very melancholic pop music beats. It was beyond ridiculous!!!!!😐😐😐😷😷😷😷. I protested and we decided to revert back to insanity max 30. I need to become a size 8 and I’m struggling to see how hiphop abs will help me achieve my goals. There wasn’t a bead of sweat on my body by the end of yesterday’s session. I just can’t take Sean T serious when he’s wearing dance clothes from the early 90s whilst performing the campest versions of hip hop dance moves (did i mention that I’m using the word hiphop loosely?) . Having previously completed the original version of insanity & insanity max 30 consecutively; hip hop abs cannot be remotely considered as an exercise programme. I would not recommend hiphop abs to my worst enemy,it was torturous.
We’re finally in the final week of insanity max 30 and I’m not sure how I feel about it. On one hand I’m glad that Shaun T’s torturous reign is coming to an end but on the other hand I’m worried that I’ll crawl back into bad habits and undo all the hard work . I started this week on a high,I sailed through Mondays session of insanity max 30. Yesterday’s session was lacklustre. Today was a mixture of lacklustre and energetic. My eating habits have been fluctuating between good and slightly bad 🙈🙈🙈. I decided to readjust my bodygoals this weekend. My initial plan was to become a perfect 100 but I’ve decided to up the ante and work towards becoming a size 8 …
Oops I just remembered that It wouldn’t be my last week of insanity max 30 because I missed a week in between so I’ll be making it up next week😥😥😥😥😥. My body is tired…Shaun T has pushed my body to its full capacity and I can feel it.
I’ve made better eating choices today and my body feels much lighter and I’m feeling great. I started off the day with a pineapple/beetroot/grape/mango/spinach/carrot smoothie.
I discovered a new salad joint and I loved the salad i had today.
Today’s session of insanity max 30 was max out strength . It was ridiculously hard to follow but I had to keep moving even when my body was trying to give up on me. I had to focus on the results I’m hoping to achieve. This stomach must disappear!!!
I started today off with a bang .. I went for a 20min run at 5am
and then I did a few arm and ab exercises then i made my (pineapple/spinach/beetroot/grapes/carrot) smoothie and I had that for breakfast. I had rice and goat meat soup for lunch. I’m really trying to push myself through my insanity sessions. Today’s session of insanity max 30 was .
Ps .15 days until my birthday
Since I’m running a tight shift until my birthday I can’t afford to take any days off. I do know that my body needs to recover from insanity max 30 so I decided to do a 30 minute slow jog with my 2kg dumbbells. I then did 50 narrow squats, 20 weighted lunges,30 crunches, 30 single leg crunches and a few other random exercises. I will be doing my fruit/veg shopping today and I’m looking forward to that. 😚😚😚😚
I haven’t posted in over a week, I was dealing with some personal stuff last week which led me back into some bad habits. I only went for insanity last monday. I OVER ATE that entire week and I’ve continued to overeat all through this week. It is exactly 21 days until my birthday and I must really do better. I’m trying to turn over a new leaf however I’ve been to insanity everyday this week but my eating habits need to realign itself with my body goals. We’re in month 2 of insanity max 30 and honestly the moves are a real killer. I can only keep up with approximately 30% of the moves and I spend the rest of the time modifying the moves ( primarily squats- I’m doing a 30 day squat challenge) . The week I took off has taken a toll on my fitness levels and i’m trying to revert back to my fitness levels prior to me taking this break. I’m putting on weight again ( Felicity is SAD). This demonstrates how easy it is to fall back into bad habits , I have an unhealthy relationship with food (FIX IT JESUS) . I MUST DO BETTER SO HELP ME GOD!!
I’m Felicity , I’m 26 and I wanted to look good naked so I decided to sign up for Insanity Max 30.
I’ll share my insanity max fitness journey to encourage and motivate myself to be consistent.
I started Insanity Max yesterday. I took a few pictures of my day 1 body, Laard GAAD… the body is not looking sexy kraaaa… but small time, miracles go happen. I’m going to try and update this page on a daily basis but my schedule is quite hectic at the moment. In between insanity max, law school, work and commuting, i literally have no time left for anything else.
I haven’t done any exercise in the last 2 weeks and it was obvious when I attempted insanity Max for the first time yesterday, I could barely keep up with any of the moves. I took a break every 15 seconds (SMDH). I was happy to be exercising all over again tho. Exercising really lifted my spirits, I was in such a terrible mood earlier but ..endorphin do work wonders.
I had a carrot and pineapple smoothie for breakfast. Rice and fish stew doesn’t constitute a healthy meal but i’m trying okay?! I had a cucumber, lettuce, carrot and pineapple smoothie for dinner.

Insanity Max: 30 is a 60 day fitness program created by Shaun T, divided into two months of different sets of workouts, each lasting for 30 minutes.
The workouts abandon the max interval training method, and introduce the concept of maxing out- going as hard as you can for as long as you can. The goal is to try and hold your ground as long as you can before- and I quote Shaun T- your lungs feel like sandpaper. Then, you just write down the time, each day moving closer to that 30 minutes mark.
Shaun T, the creator of the original Insanity workout, had to change the whole concept of training in order to fit the same results of the original Insanity within just 30 minutes.
At first, you might only make it through 3 minutes (and believe me, even that will be an accomplishment). That means 3:00 is your MAX OUT time. Next time you do the workout, try to push that time just 30 seconds longer. If you can make 30 seconds of progress every day for 60 days, at the end of 60 days, you will make it all the way to MAX 30. And when that happens—trust me…you’re going to feel—and look—like a freakin’ fitness god.
